Thanks for sharing our journey!

Thanks to everyone who took the time to share our travels.  We had the time of our lives, and look forward to reading your comments!
Cheers!!

Buffalo, Wyoming

The Santa Fe Trail from River City to Buffalo had some lovely scenery.
We put over 23,000 Kilometers on the Van from the end of September to February 12th!!!

We arrived in Buffalo Wyoming exhausted after a long drive, registered into the Quality Inn & headed downtown (left) for a bite to eat... We'd almost given up when we came across the Virginian, a restaurant located in the Occidental Hotel.

We dined in the little alcove table for two you can see through the archway on Filet and Duck.. The meal was perfect, as was the service.  We learned a few things about the hotel...

The lobby

The hotel has housed such famous people as Presidents Teddy Roosevelt and Herbert Hoover, Buffalo Bill Cody, Butch Cassidy, Calamity Jane, Ernest Hemingway, and, more recently, Tommy Lee Jones!  Our guide said there are many famous people who stop in and stay... we could definitely see why!

The hotel is on 2 levels and the rooms are named after their famous guests.
We woke up the next morning to 2 feet of snow, so of course decided to stay at the Occidental Hotel until the next day.  Our room was the Herbert Hoover Suite.  This is the living area of the suite. There was a full bath with a claw tub, and a separate bedroom.  What a great way to end our travels!

Santa Fe, New Mexico

In Santa Fe, Maureen was thrilled to visit the Museum of Georgia O'Keeffe (her hero),  and see her original paintings.

If you are a Georgia O'Keeffe fan, you will recognize this photo of St. Francis Church that both she and Ansel Adams used as a subject for their work.
No building in Santa Fe can be over 5 stories... most are 2-3 stories.  All have the earthen finish to make them appear similar to old adobe houses.

There's always someone playing music in Luckenbach.  There were about 8 musicians taking turns playing some deep south music.
